This study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a proposed strategy based on
the integration between the constructivist learning and flipped learning in
developing Arabic language teaching skills among the female students
of Educational Preparation Program at Umm Al-Qura University. To achieve the
study objectives the researcher used experimental approach with a quasiexperimental
design was employed which is based on two groups: the
experimental group, and the control group, with pre-test/post-test design. The
tools of this study were the achievement test in the cognitive aspect of Arabic
language teaching skills, and the observation card to observe the performance of
the students teachers in Arabic language teaching skills during teaching. The
researcher also developed a faculty member's guide, educational videos, and the
web page of the course to implement the proposed strategy. After verifying the
validity and reliability of the study tools and the materials, the study was applied to
a random sample consisted of (80) female students of Educational Preparation
Program specialized in Arabic language, They were divided into two equivalent
groups, control group and experimental group. The control group studied using
the conventional method whereas, the experimental group studied using the
proposed strategy, Data were analyzed by using a number of statistical methods;
including: (T-test for two independent groups, Paired Sample TTest,
Eta Squared, and Effect Size). The results were as follow: there were
statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental
group and the control group in the cognitive achievement test and the
observation card in favor of the experimental group, The results also revealed that
there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the
experimental group in the pre-test/post-test of the cognitive achievement test in
favor of the post test, Furthermore, the results of ETA (2) showed that the effect
of the post-test of the proposed strategy on Arabic language teaching skills
through the cognitive achievement test was high, Also, there was positive positive
correlation between the students' grades the cognitive achievement test on the
post- test, and their score on the observation card, the more they know about the
teaching skills, the higher the level of their practical performance of these skills
during teaching. The study has recommended to develop a teaching Arabic
language course (2) in light of the requirements of constructivist learning and
flipped learning, and improve the attitudes of the faculty members, and students,
towards using the modern techniques and strategies in teaching and learning
through extra-curricular activities, seminars, and Conferences, discussion, and
scientific publications. The study has also suggested to conduct some studies that
enrich its subject like studying the effectiveness of a proposed program based on
the integration between the constructivist learning and flipped learning in
developing teaching skills among the Arabic language teachers in secondary
school.
