    تمثل المشروعات الصغيرة عصب الاقتصاد في کثير من دول العالم ، ليس فقط لأنها توفر فرص عمل لکن لأنها تغذي الصناعات الکبيرة باحتياجاتها وتعمل بصورة لصيقة للأسواق والمناطق الصناعية ومنافذ التصدير ، فالمشروع الصغير مجموعة من الأنشطة الاستثمارية المرتبطة معا والتي تنفذ بطريقة منظمة وله نقطة بداية واضحة وله دورة حياة محدده لتحقيق بعض النتائج المحددة التي تلبي أهداف واحتياجات صاحب العمل ، فهو مجموعة أنشطة استثمارية يمارسها صاحب العمل لتحقيق عائد اقتصادي .
    والقدرة التنافسية لأي مشروع مرهونة بقدرته المستمرة على تحسين وتعديل منتجاته وأساليبه ونمط عمله ، وهذا يتطلب قدر کبيرا من روح المبادرة والإبداع ومرونة ، وتزيد القدرة التنافسية للمشروعات بزيادة قدرته على التجديد وإيجاد السبل والفرص وخلق أسواق جديدة تنافسية في الأسواق المحلية والدولية وتطويرها 
 
 
    Small businesses represent the backbone of the economy in many countries of the world, not only because they provide jobs but because they feed the large industries with their needs and work closely for markets, industrial areas and export outlets. A specific life to achieve some specific results that meet the objectives and needs of the employer, it is a group of investment activities practiced by the employer to achieve an economic return.
 
    The competitiveness of a project is contingent on its ability to continuously improve and modify its products, methods and style of work.This requires a great deal of entrepreneurship, creativity and flexibility, and increases the competitiveness of projects by increasing their ability to innovate, find ways and opportunities, and create and develop new competitive markets in local and international markets.
