Employing Educational Blogs in Developing Some Summarization Skills for Second Grade Preparatory Female Pupils
This study aimed at developing some summarization skills which are suitable and necessary for
second grade preparatory female pupils. In order to achieve study goals, researchers employed electronic
blogs and used qualitative and semi-experimental approaches. They designed the following educational
tools and elements:
1: List of summarization skills which are suitable to those students and necessary for them.
2: Test for summarization skills for second grade preparatory female pupils.
3: Analytical estimating list to score test questions.
4: The educational blog to develop some necessary and suitable summarization skills needed by second
grade preparatory female pupils.
Statistical analysis was done including standardizing tools regarding validity and reliability before
using them. The study was performed on a sample consisting of 68 female students at second preparatory
grade through 2018-2019 academic year in Basyoun Female Preparatory School, Basyoun district at Al-
Gharbya Governorate. They were divided into two groups: experimental group which contained 34 pupils
and control group which contained 34 pupils too.
The performance of study took the whole first semester. To analyze study data, researchers used T-test
for independent samples and T-test for paired samples. The results revealed existence of six skills which
are suitable for study sample and necessary for them, and it proved effectiveness of educational blogs in
developing summarization skills for second grade preparatory female pupils.
In light of Those findings, researchers submitted some recommendations and suggested further
research relating to study subject.
