The impact of a multimedia-based program on the academic attainment of the Deaf schoolgirls
in Al-Amal Institute in the jurisprudence curriculum of the intermediate education, The aim of
the study is to identify the impact of a multimedia-based program in the academic attainment of
the Deaf schoolgirls in Al-Amal Institute in the jurisprudence curriculum of the intermediate
education, To achieve this objective, the study adopted the experimental approach, based on
semi-experimental design with one group ,Al-Amal governmental Institute for the Deaf was
selected in Al Zaher district in Makkah Al Mukarramah. It's an institute that comprised all the
academic grades, The sample of the study was chosen from the second grade of the preparatory
education in an intentional manner. The sample consisted of (12) female schoolgirl. The media
program was applied to them (fixed and mobile images, videos, texts and sound), their academic
attainment was measuredby the achievement test - prepared by the researcher –pretestand
posttest, the statistical treatments to test the hypotheses of the study using arithmetic averages,
standard deviations, and the use of the Wilcoxon test to the T-test for two related samples to
measure the attainment degree of the group in the pretest and the posttest.
The results of the study showed that:
1- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (P≤0.05) between the average grades
of the schoolgirls of the study sample in the pretest and the post test of the academic attainment
at the level of memory in the jurisprudence curriculum in favor of the posttest after examining
the pretest.
2- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (P ≤0.05) between the average grades
of the schoolgirls of the study sample in the pretest and the posttest of the academic attainment
test at the understanding level in the jurisprudence curriculum in favor of the posttest after
examining the pretest.
3- There is no statistically significant difference at the level (P ≤ 0.05) between the average grades
of the schoolgirls of the study sample in the pretest and the posttest of the academic attainment
test at the level of application in the jurisprudence curriculum after the pretest ..
4- There is a statistically significant difference at the level of (P ≤0.05) between the average grades
of the schoolgirls of the study sample in the pre and post-applications for the total score of the
academic attainment test in the jurisprudence curriculum at the three cognitive levels
(remembering, understanding, applying) in favor of the posttest after examining the pretest.
The study concluded with a set of recommendations, including: to increase attention to the deaf
and Deaf teachers and well training them in the language of the signal, and it recommends
providing the needed technical facilities and to pay more attention to the field of multimedia and
give training courses in that field.
