The semi-experimental approach was usedto determine the effect of Keagan components on academicachievement. A sample of (60 students) 8th grade (were divided toexperimental and control group) form King Faisal School in WadiAldawasser city. the achievement test was used as a tool of theresearch. The study revealed that: There were statistically significantdifferences at the level of (0.05) between the average responses ofthe 8th grade students (experimental and control group) in theachievement test in favor of the experimental group, there werestatistically significant differences at the significance level (0,05)Between the average scores of students (experimental and controlgroup) in the post-test for the experimental group due to the use ofKeagan components. The studyalso aimed to identify the differences between the average scores ofmales and females among depression patients on the study variables(social support and stressful life events). The study was based on thecomparative descriptive approach. The study sample consisted of 80patients with depression from the Saudis (40 males and 40 females),34 patients from Jeddah Mental Health Hospital (20 females - 14males) and 40 patients from the Mental Health Hospital in Taif (18)Females - 22 males) and 6 patients from the Psychiatric Departmentat King Abdul Aziz Hospital in Makkah (4 females), aged between24-60 years. The study was based on the following tools: socialsupport measure (developed by the researcher), Questionnaire ofevents of stressful life; translated by (Hassan Abdel Muti, 1994),Beck's measure of depression (Fateem, 1999), and theappropriateness of tools and their suitability for the Saudienvironment and its psychometric efficiency were verified in severalways. The results of the study showed a statistically significantpositive correlation at the level of (0.01) between the events ofstressful life and depression in a sample of depression patients.There was also a negative correlation and a statistically significantfunction at (0.01) between social support and depression in a sampleof depression patients.
